Access

Brixham Museum & History Society are committed to promoting access to the heritage of our historic town and fishing port to everyone. The majority of displays are at ground level and ramps are available to assist visitors with physical disabilities including at the Museum entrance. A Museum Steward is available to assist any visitor, ground floor doorways have been widened, and there is a recently installed toilet for the use of visitors with disabilities. A new research facility (funded by the Clore Foundation with additional support from AstraZenica) is now available on the ground floor, allowing everyone access to our family history and photographic computerised databases. Unfortunately, access to displays and members reading room on our upper floors is only possible via a steep flight of stairs, but some exhibits and research materials can be made available to view on the ground floor with prior notice, and photographs of the displays are available. Some displays are enhanced by audio effects.
