Schools programmes

Our schools programmes are provided by Dr Phillip Armitage.

Dr Armitage has a Ph.D in Historical Archaeology and has extensive teaching experience. He has worked in various other museums including the Natural History Museum in London, where he was the Environmental Research Officer for the Department of Urban Archaeology at the Museum of London and was in charge of a team of environmental archaeologists. He presently works as a freelance consultant in Faunal Analysis and has worked at Brixham Heritage Museum since 1997. In addition to Dr Armitage’s work in the Museum and his consultancy service, he also directs the Archaeological Field Team at Berry Head and regularly publishes papers on his specialist subjects.

The Museum charges £1.50 per child. Teachers and helpers are free.
