1572 Lease

John Upton, elder, esq., John Upton yr, gent., John Prowse, elder and his son John Prowse, Richard Gybbe [Gibb], John Colton [Coleton] and John Lake, feoffees,

to Stephen Lewcombe of Brixham, husband, wife Elizabeth and daughter Orrenge,

for £5 fine, of messuage and garden in Lewcombe's possession in Brixham adjoining the church earth with commons at yearly rent of 7s. 6d. paid quarterly, tenant to repair, re-entry clause

Lucombe [Luscombe]; one other cottage in Peyngton and parcel of land formerly in tenure of Silfestris Horssham [Sylvester Horsham] 4 houses called the Churche Housses of which two lie at entrance of Brixham, and 2 others on East part of Street of which one House now in tenure of John Glover; one other cottage and one parcel of land in Brixham now in tenure of Richard Madayock [Maddock]; one other parcel of land of 3 acre in Kingeston [Kingston] now included between Boundaries there called the Churche or parishe lande of Brixham and common pasture now in tenure of John Lake; annual rent of 12d. of tenement in Kyngeston now in tenure of Peter Vyttrey
